It is not impossible to get a credit card if you have filed bankruptcy. You simply have to follow some guidelines and you can get a credit card. It is important to note here that your payment history makes the credit score. It includes your good transactions as well as bad transactions. If you do not have good transactions than your credit scores may go down. The most vital thing is a good credit score.
First of all you have to take the credit report from all the three credit bureaus. Take a proper look on your report and find if there is any error. All the accounts should be maintained properly. If there is an account which was integrated in bankruptcy than it should be described as an included account. You have to dispute the specific account with credit bureau if it is not included. You should also check the first date of delinquency. A wrong date can give you further problems.
You should open new tradelines if you have filed bankruptcy. You can look for a secured credit card if you are not getting an unsecured credit card. You can deposit the amount in bank which should be equal to the secured credit amount. Use the credit card properly and avoid additional expenditure. Use a small amount every month which should be nearly to 30% of the limit and pay every month. Use your credit card every month within the specified amount. It will help you to improve your credit history.
You should look for that secured credit card from that bank who does not take huge application fee or any high yearly payment. Check that they are sending reports to credit bureaus because it would not be helpful for you if they are not sending credit reports. You need to move very cautiously in these types of situations.
